Ability to assist with operative policies and procedures following AORN and Meadville Medical Center guidelines. Lift and transport patients, provide proper positioning for patients in surgical suites and procedural rooms. Provide treatment and to maintain patient comfort and safety. Assist with maintaining equipment and ordering process for supplies. MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED Must be a high school graduate. Medical background necessary. Previous scrub experience preferred and or a graduate of an accredited surgical technician program. Communication skills necessary to effectively: Provide instruction to staff, patient and/or significant other. Provide explanation to staff, patient and/or significant other. Communicates with other members of health team in a calm professional manner. Computer usage. Physical requirements for above: talking, telephone usage and hearing. Ability to concentrate and prioritize, plan and perform professional care to resolve patient care problems and interact with patients, families, surgical staff and other team members. Able to share with nursing team plans necessary to develop and implement a plan of care for the patient’s well-being. BLS required.
