About The Position

Assists surgical team before, during, and after surgery by scrubbing, gowning, preparing sterile fields, selecting instruments, and counting supplies. Works under the supervision of Surgical Services Leadership. Scrubs gowns and gloves. Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment and medication/solutions needed for procedure. Counts sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedure. Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants. Helps to drape sterile field. Assists the surgeon during the operative procedure. Maintains strict aseptic technique, properly maintains sterile instruments and monitors sterile field for possible breaks in sterile technique. Prepares sterile dressings. Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization. Assists with room turnover, cleaning, and restocking. Requirements
