About The Position

Assists surgical team before, during, and after surgery by scrubbing, gowning, preparing sterile fields, selecting instruments, and counting supplies. Works under the supervision of Surgical Services Leadership. Scrubs gowns and gloves. Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment and medication/solutions needed for procedure. Counts sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedure. Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants. Helps to drape sterile field. Assists the surgeon during the operative procedure. Maintains strict aseptic technique, properly maintains sterile instruments and monitors sterile field for possible breaks in sterile technique. Prepares sterile dressings. Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization. Assists with room turnover, cleaning, and restocking. Desired Skills: Ability to identify supplies, instruments and equipment necessary for surgical procedures and their uses Ability to maintain strict aseptic environment Ability to maintain on call rotation Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to interact respectfully with diverse cultural and socio-economic populations Here is What You Need: Education (must meet all of one of the following): High school diploma (or Equivalent Certificate from an accredited program) or higher degree and one (1) or more years of healthcare experience Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program within forty-five (45) days of start date 14 Days: Cheyenne Regional AHA RQI within fourteen (14) calendar days of start date Nice to Have: Sterile Processing or Surgical Technician experience Surgical Technician certification About Cheyenne Regional: Cheyenne Regional Medical Center was founded in 1867 as a tent hospital by the Union Pacific Railroad to treat workers injured while building the transcontinental railroad. Requirements

  • Ability to identify supplies, instruments and equipment necessary for surgical procedures and their uses
  • Ability to maintain strict aseptic environment
