About the unit 16 ORs comprised of multidisciplinary teams; consistently recognized by US News & World Report as national leaders in Orthopedics and Neurosurgery. As a Level 1 Trauma Center, our dedicated team is expertly trained in the management of acute and urgent trauma as well as electively scheduled procedures for both the pediatric and adult populations. We set a standard of excellence in Orthopedics and Neurosurgery with access to advanced technologies including Surgical Theatre, robotic assisted, endoscopic, and minimally invasive surgeries. Requirements

• High school diploma Required
• Associate's Degree. Completion of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or equivalent training program (military, etc.) Preferred
• 3 years of independent Surgical Technologist experience. Certification must be maintained throughout employment to maintain Senior status Required
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
• Surgical Technologist Certified (CST) – NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) NCCT Required upon hire

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and preparing the surgical suite
• Intraoperative handling of instruments
• Maintenance of the sterile field
• Evaluation of changing conditions during surgical procedures and making appropriate responses as needed
• Maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols
• Acting as a preceptor and engaging with management and education team on surgical technology curriculum
