About The Position

Assists the surgical team during the operative procedure. This person, under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, is responsible for the care and safety of the patients that come under his/her care. Included within this assignment is the responsibility for ensuring effective communication between him or herself, the Charge Nurse, the patient, other staff, physicians, and other hospital departments. Assists with patient care by management of resources on the sterile field. This individual will be responsible for On-Call surgical cases as needed.

Requirements

• Graduate of a scrub tech program or a current Louisiana LPN license is preferred.
• Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team during operative procedures.
• Ensure the care and safety of patients.
• Facilitate effective communication between the surgical team, Charge Nurse, patients, and other hospital departments.
• Manage resources on the sterile field.
• Be responsible for On-Call surgical cases as needed.
