As a Surgical Technologist in the Labor and Delivery unit at Banner University Medical Center - Phoenix, you will play a crucial role in supporting women during childbirth in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This full-time night shift position offers the opportunity to work in a department that averages approximately 5,500 deliveries per year and is recognized for its high-quality care, particularly for high-risk patients. The Women & Infants Services (WIS) department is the largest at Banner University Medical Center and is accredited as a Level III Center by the Arizona Perinatal Trust, ensuring that we are equipped to handle the most complex cases. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing for surgical procedures by selecting and placing surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment. You will anticipate the surgeon's needs during surgery, demonstrating aseptic techniques and universal precautions. Your duties will include passing instruments, retracting tissue, and operating equipment, as well as participating in the turnover of operating rooms between cases. You will also assist with administrative tasks as needed, ensuring that all surgeon preference cards and pick lists are accurate.
