About The Position

The Surgical Technician or Licensed Practical Nurse, under the guidance of the Registered Nurse and/or RN Clinical Coordinator, is responsible for the care and treatment of patients in the Operating Room. Regarding health information has access to demographics and limited clinical data relevant to the encounter. May have access to medication storage areas (excluding controlled substances) as related to job responsibilities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an approved program for surgical technicians; graduate of a military training program in surgical technology or current Licensed Practical Nurse licensure in North Carolina.
• Certification in Basic Live Support (BLS)
• Ability to make decisions independently and to resolve problems/conflicts in an effective manner.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Must be able to remain positive, poised, pleasant and professional even in adverse circumstances.
