About The Position

As a Surgical Tech II, you will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician, assisting during surgical procedures by performing scrub duties. Your role is crucial in ensuring a safe and efficient surgical environment, contributing to the overall patient experience and care.

Requirements

• Two years of experience within the last three years in operating room scrubbing or equivalent military experience.
• Graduate of an approved surgical technologist or military equivalent program.
• Surgical Technologist Certificate from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or equivalent certification.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician during surgical procedures by performing scrub duties.
• Uphold Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures and applicable laws.
• Demonstrate effective communication strategies and participate in problem identification and resolution.
• Correctly identify patients and scheduled procedures, performing patient care activities as assigned.
• Collect data and provide timely information to the Registered Nurse.
• Apply standard precautions and maintain a safe environment.
• Assemble and ensure all equipment/supplies/instruments are appropriate and organized for procedures.
• Perform scrub role, anticipating surgeons' needs and assisting with patient stabilization.
• Clean instruments and equipment according to established guidelines.
• Practice customer service standards and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
• Organize work to minimize overtime and assist in systems improvement.
