About The Position

Corewell Health is offering up to $10,000 as a sign on bonus for this opportunity! About this unit Twenty-five operating rooms perform a vast variety of operative procedures/surgical specialties including Trauma and Open-Heart Surgery Programs. The department provides elective and emergency surgery Monday - Sunday, 24 hours per day. Rotating call, holiday, and weekend assignments. About Dearborn Hospital Recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the “Top 10 Hospitals” in Michigan, this major teaching and research hospital has been advancing care since 1953. It is a Level II trauma center and has been recognized for clinical excellence and innovation in the fields of orthopedics, neurosciences, women’s health, heart & vascular, and cancer care. Scope of work The Surgical Technologist II will be responsible for maintaining and preparing the surgical suite, intraoperative handling of instruments, maintenance of the sterile field, and evaluation of changing conditions during the surgical procedures, and making appropriate responses as needed. Responsible for maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols. May serve as a preceptor as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma Required
  • Associate degree or equivalent Required
  • Completion of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or equivalent training program (military, etc.) Not all schools require an associate degree Or 1 year of equivalent experience Required
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire Required

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience (Clinical rotations do count as experience) Preferred
