As a Surgical Tech II at Kaiser Permanente, you will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician, assisting during surgical procedures by performing scrub duties. This role is crucial in delivering total health and improving patient experiences. You will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment and supplies are prepared and organized for surgical procedures, while also maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.

  • Uphold Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures and applicable laws.
  • Demonstrate a professional and supportive attitude.
  • Utilize effective communication strategies to achieve intended outcomes.
  • Participate in problem identification and resolution in collaboration with the Registered Nurse.
  • Prioritize work assignments to ensure completion of patient care activities.
  • Perform patient care activities considering age-related needs.
  • Collect data and provide timely information to the Registered Nurse.
  • Apply standard precautions and maintain a safe environment.
  • Observe patient/family conditions and report changes to the Registered Nurse.
  • Assemble and ensure all equipment/supplies/instruments are ready for procedures.
  • Perform scrub role during surgeries, anticipating surgeons' needs.
  • Assist with patient transport and stabilization.
  • Clean and maintain instruments and equipment according to guidelines.
  • Practice customer service standards and resolve patient issues.
  • Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and participate in professional development.
  • Two years of operating room scrubbing experience or equivalent military experience.
  • Graduate of an approved surgical technologist or military equivalent program.
  • Surgical Technologist Certificate from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English.
  • Experience in a variety of surgical procedures.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends on call.
  • $2,000 sign-on bonus.
  • Full-time employment with a scheduled weekly hours of 40.
  • Competitive pay range of $36.31 - $40.22 per hour.
