About The Position
Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Surgical Technician at varying levels (I, II). Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Graduate from a surgical technology program which is CAAHEP or ABHES accredited
- Basic Life Support certification through American Heart Association
- 1+ years of surgical tech experience
- Mastery of basic Surgical Tech skills and extensive knowledge of at least one specialty service
- Proven basic computer skills
Nice To Haves
- 3+ years of surgical tech experience
Responsibilities
- Works in collaboration with the Registered Nurses to provide care of the surgical patient in the OR suite
- Prepares the instruments for each surgical procedure.
- Scrubs in on surgical cases to prepare instruments and assists the surgeon
- Assists in room turn over and are responsible for instrument decontamination
- Contributes to the orientation of new surgical technicians.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to specific age groups
- Works as needed to provide staffing for the ASC OR.
- This position serves the following age groups: Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric
- Includes all duties of Surgical Technician I (for Surgical Technician II)
