Summary: Responsible for assisting the surgeon during surgery and plays a vital role in the operating room during surgeries. Communicates the surgeon's preferences and specific patient needs to surgical team. Assists in positioning, prepping and draping of patients for surgical procedures. Provides retraction of tissues and organs for optimal visualization with regard to the surgical site. Assists with selecting equipment, holding incisions open, controlling bleeding, closing incisions and performing other technical duties.

Requirements

• HS Graduate or Equivalent GED
• Surgical Technology First Assist Certificate
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) Certification
• At least 3 years' experience as a Surgical Tech
• 1-year Surgical First Assistant experience

Responsibilities

• Assisting the surgeon during surgery
• Communicating the surgeon's preferences and specific patient needs to surgical team
