About The Position

HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Tech CVOR PRN to join our team. This role involves providing technical services in the Hybrid Room and Operating Room while caring for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations. The Surgical Tech will work collaboratively to complete all Cardiac Surgical Technologist assignments under the supervision of the assigned clinician and the Director. Responsibilities include arranging sterile setups for surgical procedures, passing instruments, preparing sterile supplies, and assisting in the cleanup of the operating room.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in a surgery/CV/cardiac hospital setting.
  • Lead CST experience is highly preferred.
  • Formal training from an accredited Certified Surgical Technician Program.
  • Current Certified Surgical Tech Certification required.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association (BLS OR BCLS) Course Completion and Certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical services in the Hybrid Room and Operating Room.
  • Assist in the care of adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations.
  • Work collaboratively to complete all Cardiac Surgical Technologist assignments.
  • Facilitate safe invasive and non-invasive procedures under supervision.
  • Perform advanced tasks in support of the surgical team.
  • Arrange sterile setup for surgical procedures.
  • Pass instruments, sponges, and sutures to surgeons and surgical assistants.
  • Prepare sterile supplies and assist in cleanup of the operating room.
  • Check placement and operation of equipment, and restock the operating room after each procedure.
