Requirements
- Graduate of Certified Surgical Technology Program or equivalent required
- Current CPR required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in surgical technology required
- Requires advanced knowledge of principles of asepsis and sterile technique with basic operating room technique and standards
- Requires advanced knowledge of surgical procedures with emphasis on various orthopedic procedures and the miscellaneous equipment used in the surgical service area.
Responsibilities
- Act the primary scrub person handling the instruments, supplies, and equipment during the surgical procedure
- Act as secondary unsterile person of surgical team as needed
