About The Position

Requirements

• Current, valid State of Florida license as a Licensed Professional Nurse (if LPN).
• Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
• Completion of an RN training program may be accepted in place of certification.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care in surgery by performing technical duties as a surgical scrub technician/nurse.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and keep the circulating nurse informed during procedures.
• Assemble all supplies, equipment, and medications prior to surgical procedures.
• Maintain high standards and quality in cost savings and containment.
• Assist the surgical team with safe and appropriate operating room turnover times.
• Supervise other healthcare team members in the surgical environment.
• Promote a safe environment and take appropriate action in emergency situations.
• Identify and report environmental concerns to management.
