About The Position

Join us at Holy Family Hospital. Our two campuses in Methuen and Haverhill have a total of 320 beds, and we are a full-service, acute care hospital offering comprehensive inpatient medical/surgical units, outpatient care, and 24/7 emergency services. We have three behavioral health units: cardiac telemetry, and critical care service lines. Our Haverhill campus offers all private rooms, and our Methuen campus offers a new state-of-the-art catheterization suite and Joint Center of Excellence, named as a Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Distinction+ Center for Knee and Hip Replacement. Job Summary: Surgical Tech Birthing Center Methuen Part-time 24 Hour 11 pm to 7 am. The OR Tech is a member of the surgical team in the operating room who acts as the primary scrub person who handles instruments, supplies and equipment necessary, prior to and during the surgical procedure. It provides technical assistance during procedures in the operating and pain rooms. Provides patient care within the prevailing national and state standards of practice and the policies of the facility. May have additional responsibilities as designated by the Nurse Manager which include, but are not limited to, providing patient care in other areas.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited educational program for surgical technologists.
• Hold and maintain a certified surgical technologist credential administered by a nationally recognized surgical technologist certifying body.
• One year of experience preferred.
• BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a surgical technologist in a surgical facility prior to July 1, 2013.

Responsibilities

• Understand the procedures being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon.
• Ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure.
• Maintain the sterile field.
