About The Position

Under general supervision of medical and nursing staff, following policies, procedures and professional guidelines, assists with surgical and endoscopy procedures; provides, assembles and cares for surgical supplies, instruments and equipment before, during and after procedures. Assists with cleaning, restocking and processing of the surgical suite, instruments and equipment; as needed. Identifies and reports situations requiring intervention to the RN or Clinician. Serves as a clinical preceptor for new O.R. scrub tech and O.R. technician students and serves as a resource person in at least three surgical specialty areas. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Requirements

• Graduate of Surgical Technologist training program.
• Active and maintained CST Certification from AST or NCCT, or completion of a Hospital Based Surgical Tech Program.
• Equivalent Military experience.
• Minimum of 1 year working experience.

Nice To Haves

• Neuro experience preferred.
• Ortho experience preferred.
• Davinci Robotic experience preferred.
