Surgical Svcs Aide
About The Position
Under the direction of a qualified RN and in accordance with approved Surgical Services standards, policies and procedures, the Surgical Services Aide provides both patient and non-patient care activities. Assists with patient care under direction of the clinical nurse.The Surgical Services Aide is knowledgeable in identification and processing of surgical equipment and maintaining appropriate inventory levels of surgical supplies. Selects surgical case supplies and instrumentation, using procedure pick sheets and performs environmental cleaning duties as assigned. Supports efficient operations and customer service throughout the department.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- BLS Certification required through the RQI system during clinical orientation.
- CPI
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills.
Nice To Haves
- One year experience in OR setting.
