About The Position

PeaceHealth is seeking a Surgical Support Aide - Operating Room for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, 10hr Nights (8:45p-7:15a) position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $21.49 - $31.88. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting. Job Summary Responsible for assisting in tasks involving patient care and maintenance of the operating room. The primary focus is to help with set-up and efficient turnover of the operating rooms and caring for the instruments and equipment to be used during the surgical procedure.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs
  • Certified Nurse Assistant - Oregon
  • Upon Hire Basic Life Support
  • Well organized, detail oriented and self motivated.
  • Ability to coordinate activities and work collaboratively with others.
  • Basic computer/keyboarding skills including MS Office applications.
  • Understanding of operating room protocols.
  • Six months of patient care experience required.
  • CNA I required at time of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with sterile/aseptic techniques
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in pulling instruments and supplies for surgical procedures. Set up equipment for surgical procedure.
  • Order and restock inventory and supplies for department. Stock and put supplies away in individual operating rooms.
  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize equipment. Assists with clean-up and room turnover.
  • Provide assistance with moving and lifting patients. Transport patients.
  • Transport specimens to appropriate area/unit.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
