About The Position

Arnett Hospital is seeking a dedicated Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our Labor & Delivery team in a dynamic dual-role position that blends CST and Unit Support Technician (UST) responsibilities. CST Responsibilities: Assist with vaginal deliveries and Cesarean sections (scheduled and emergency) Occasionally support GYN surgeries (infrequent) Scrub in and perform traditional OR duties including passing instruments and first assist Work exclusively within the L&D unit, including our dedicated OR Transport instruments, stock rooms, and prepare/setup the OR Collaborate with a second CST on each shift to ensure comprehensive coverage UST Responsibilities (during CST downtime): Staff the L&D front desk and interact with visitors Escort patients from registration to the unit Answer phones and schedule procedures Admit newborns into Cerner at the time of delivery This is a great opportunity for CSTs who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and are passionate about maternal and newborn care. Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma/GED.
  • Requires certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist obtained from the NBSTSA within four months of employment.
  • Requires Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Requires the ability to resource advanced technology.
  • Requires 15 continuing education units annually as required by state law.
  • Requires knowledge of various surgical procedures in order to anticipate the needs of the surgeon and to recognize the problems encountered by the surgeon within 12 months of employment.
  • Requires knowledge of name and function of surgical equipment and instrumentation.
  • Requires strict adherence to policies and regulations regarding maintenance of sterile field.
