About The Position

Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. The Surgical Services Assistant performs procedures relating to patient transport, patient positioning, decontamination of environment, room preparation, and supply control. Collaborates with team members to provide quality care. Supports the Professional Practice & Caring Model Principles practiced at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital. Performs transporting responsibilities of both patients and supplies as assigned Performs housekeeping responsibilities in the Central Sterile and Operating Room. Maintains inventory of supplies. May be required to work variable shifts.

Requirements

• Ability to concentrate for long periods of time, work independently and exercise good judgment.
• Flexibility in scheduling to meet department needs.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet State mandated criteria.
• No previous experience required.
• High School or better.
