About The Position

The Surgical Services Aide at Rio Grande Regional Hospital plays a crucial role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care by assisting with the surgical process. Requirements

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Certification

Responsibilities

• Obtain various equipment for upcoming surgeries including carts, video equipment, and positioning devices.
• Maintain and stock fluids, linens, PPE, and other supplies in the operating suite.
• Verify identification of each patient being transferred.
• Transport and transfer patients using good body mechanics and safety measures.
• Observe proper precautions for patients with mobility issues or attached medical equipment.
• Transport various specimens safely to appropriate departments.
• Assist with cleaning and turnover of the OR rooms between cases and at the end of the day.
• Return equipment to appropriate storage locations promptly after cleaning and appropriate disinfection.
