Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
  • Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred/required
  • Current BLS certification
  • Strong knowledge of orthopedic instrumentation and implant systems
  • Ability to work efficiently in long and physically demanding procedures
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • 1–3+ years of orthopedic surgical experience
  • Experience with total joints (hip, knee, shoulder), trauma, and arthroscopy
  • Familiarity with multiple orthopedic implant systems

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain sterile fields for orthopedic procedures
  • Set up operating rooms with specialized orthopedic instruments, implants, and power equipment
  • Assist surgeons during procedures including total joint replacements, arthroscopy, fracture repairs, and spine cases
  • Operate and manage orthopedic power tools, drills, saws, and reamers
  • Perform accurate surgical counts in accordance with policy
  • Handle and document implants according to facility protocols
  • Coordinate with vendor representatives for trays and implant systems
  • Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of complex orthopedic instrumentation
  • Maintain compliance with infection control and safety standards
