About The Position

St. Luke's Surgical Center is looking to hire a Full Time Surgical Scrub Tech to join our team at The Villages location. Experience preferred. St. Luke's Surgical Center performs multi-subspecialty ophthalmic surgery. Job Description: Reporting to the OR Supervisor, the surgical scrub technician's role and responsibility is to provide necessary and appropriate equipment, instruments, and supplies during surgery with the surgeon, nurses, and staff. To clean and sterilize instruments in accordance with AAMI standards. The ideal candidate must be able to work under pressure in an ever-changing environment. Your primary position will be working at the sterile field as a Scrub Technician in a fast paced environment. We require self-motivated, patient focused individuals with strong customer service skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment with patients, physicians, and staff.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalency is required
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a surgical scrub technician in an operating room required
  • Experience in the cleaning and sterilization of instruments required
  • Must be mobile in a surgery procedure; walking, sitting, standing, bending, and stretching

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Cataract Surgery experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide necessary and appropriate equipment, instruments, and supplies during surgery with the surgeon, nurses, and staff.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments in accordance with AAMI standards.
  • Perform general duties and other functions as required or assigned
