Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Scrub Technologist school/program or two (2) years of experience as a surgical technologist.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, strong work ethics, and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Assists surgeons with kidney transplant perfusion and solid organ preparation as required
  • Ensures equipment is in working order and machine repairs are completed.
  • Maintains supplies related to kidney perfusion
  • Accepts and transports import organs as needed and assists surgeons to prepare organs for transplant that are not perfused.
  • Packages and arranges shipping of declined organs (outside procurement event) according to UNOS regulations
  • Tracks data and keeps complete records related to organs and transplantation
