Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited Scrub technician program preferred.
  • Current BLS required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of continuous CV Surgery experience preferred.
  • Able to assist and scrub, at a proficient level, all procedures related to the department in both acute and stable patients.

Responsibilities

  • Assists and scrubs on all surgery procedures directly related to the department utilizing all standards for quality and patient safety.
  • Willingness to work in other areas of the Oklahoma Heart Hospital, as needed.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and adheres to federal and state regulations.
  • Actively participates in the routine checks of clinical, electronic, and all other equipment used in the department within the scope of practice.
  • Collaborates with leadership and all other team members in idea sharing and utilization of resources.
  • Assists in the cross training of the staff when assigned.
  • Assists leadership on projects aimed at achieving the hospital mission and incorporating the values of the hospital in day-to-day activities.
  • Participates in and encourages teamwork to provide patient-focused care.
  • Serves as scrub Tech assistant on all procedures working closely with the physicians and direct care staff communicating pertinent patient information.
  • Actively participates in administering patient care within the scope of their practice.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and universal precautions.
  • Applies the knowledge of growth and development to appropriate patient populations.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, physician satisfaction, and staff satisfaction performing surveys as necessary.
  • Ensures the provision of a safe and comforting environment.
  • Participates in the educational opportunities available with unit specific topics.
  • Adheres to procedure protocol.
  • Maintains the dignity of all patients within your care.
