About The Position

The Surgical Scheduler enhances the patient/customer experience by courteously and professionally scheduling inpatient/outpatient procedures and/or surgeries. The Surgical Scheduler supports delivery of the Jefferson Experience by placing emphasis on the prompt and courteous treatment of all patients. Job Description Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Collect and review patient insurance information to include but not limited to obtaining prior authorizations (inpatient and outpatient) and referral information and ensure all necessary approvals are in place prior to the scheduled surgical procedure. Completes pre-procedure phone calls and confirms appointment times with patients via telephone. Provides patient with all necessary pre-operative instructions. Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards. Other duties as requested or assigned.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Customer service and/or patient facing healthcare experience preferred.
