Requirements

  • High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.
  • Three (3) years of scheduling, clerical, office, or healthcare related work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Organize, implement, and maintain a scheduling management system.
  • Log all new information into a database and provide scheduled reports for coordination and reporting purposes.
  • Interact with customers, patients, providers, and staff to coordinate pre-op surgery and post-appointment along with all follow-up appointments.
  • Evaluate patients for surgery readiness to determine the appropriate OR and post-op timeframe.
  • Analyze critical paths and constraints to determine the effect of schedule changes and recommend work-around.
  • Manage daily add-ons and emergency cases, and assist the team in developing and maintaining periodic status reports to keep management informed.
  • Analyze to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped schedules.
  • Prepare patients for examinations including taking and recording vital signs, printing medication lists, and other tasks.
  • Perform Point of Care (POC) testing on patients, maintain POC equipment and supplies, and maintain equipment/controls.
  • May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents
