The role involves entering diagnostic tests and procedures into the orders management system, arranging and distributing the surgery schedule, and communicating any issues to the Nurse, Physician, or Clinical Manager. The position also requires performing clerical duties such as faxing, photocopying, scanning, and filing, while maintaining positive relationships with physicians and nursing staff. The scheduler must demonstrate a working knowledge of booking and scheduling procedures, insurance and pre-certification requirements, and customer service skills to alleviate patient anxiety. Other responsibilities include logging surgical procedures, arranging for specialty equipment, and interacting with outside vendors as needed.
