About The Position

The Surgical Scheduler enhances the patient/customer experience by courteously and professionally scheduling inpatient/outpatient procedures and/or surgeries. The Surgical Scheduler supports delivery of the Jefferson Experience by placing emphasis on the prompt and courteous treatment of all patients. Job Description Job Duties Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.(Do not delete, move or over-write this statement) Collect and review patient insurance information to include but not limited to: obtaining prior authorizations (inpatient and outpatient) and referral information and ensure all necessary approvals are in place prior to the scheduled surgical procedure. Completes pre-procedure phone calls and confirms appointment times with patients via telephone. Provides patient with all necessary pre-operative instructions. Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards. Other duties as requested or assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to provide and support a positive Jefferson Experience for all patients and/or visitors.
• Ability to process and interpret data.
• Ability to multi task while managing a time sensitive workload.
