About The Position

The Registered Nurse utilizes the knowledge bases of nursing education and experience in order to deliver nursing care using the nursing process according to the hospitals policies, procedures, and protocols. The RN responds to life-threatening situations with appropriate nursing interventions. The RN organizes patient care delivery by prioritizing, delegating, delivering and evaluating on an ongoing basis.

Requirements

  • New graduate RN with less than one year of experience.
  • Obtain licensure in the state of Oregon within 3 months of hire.
  • Must have Oregon state RN licensure before beginning the program.
  • Obtain BLS certification on hire and maintain as current.

Responsibilities

  • Follows and completes all assignments as given by the charge nurse.
  • Assists in and assesses Operating Room readiness, table positioning, supplies and supply availability and equipment readiness for a variety of procedures.
  • Develops the patient s plan of care and monitors treatment in the operative environment.
  • Manages patient safety by implementing operative policy and procedures including patient identification, site verification, positioning and counting of sponges, instruments and sharps.
  • Takes action to correct deficiencies in patient safety practices.
  • Holds self, physicians and other team members accountable for safe patient practices and environment.
  • Documents accurately and appropriately, following regulatory and hospital requirements.
  • Participates in the responsible management of health care resources.
  • Assumes responsibility for clinical competency and professional development.
  • Other duties as assigned.
