About The Position

Provides direct and indirect care to the surgical patient within the scope of practice. Supports the department through operational efficiency within specialty area.

Requirements

• MUST have 3 years of Scrub Tech experience to qualify.
• Graduate of a technical program for operating room technicians
• Three years' experience
• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
• Tech in Surgery - Certified - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
• National Registered Surgical Technician (NRST) - American Allied Health Association (AAH)

Responsibilities

• Ensures patient safety through compliance with rules, regulations, policies and procedures which result in zero preventable errors.
• Works in collaboration with others to improve patient, employee and physician satisfaction.
• Participates in the creation of a financially effective facility through the efficient utilization of resources.
• Supports the care of the patient through the provision of timely supply management and accurate physician preference lists.
• Functions as a member of the team through active participation in staff meetings, committees, and special projects.
• Demonstrates and promotes the principles of relationship based care through the development of health relationships with patients, staff and physicians.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
