About The Position

A radiologic technologist employed by Erlanger Medical Center is responsible for the radiological direct and/or indirect care of the patient in the Operating Room, Endoscopy Units, and Perioperative Areas. This includes performing a variety of procedures with a vast array of x-ray producing equipment to surgical service lines, as well as occasionally second assisting in procedures.

Requirements

• A graduate of an ARRT approved radiologic technology program.
• ARRT certified and compliant with all continuing education mandates, or ARRT registry eligible (must complete within one year of hire).
• BLS completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward.
• Completion of on the job Competency Training Program within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• AS Health Science in Radiologic Technology.
• 1 year clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive radiology and technical support in the Operating Room, Endoscopy Unit, and Perioperative areas.
• Perform a variety of procedures with x-ray producing equipment for surgical service lines.
• Occasionally second assist in procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of sterile techniques, patient positioning, and radiology safety.
• Prioritize functions based on volume and activity.
• Recognize emergent situations and act promptly based on patient needs.
• Set up equipment and room as needed for exams.
• Ensure equipment is properly cleaned and stored after each exam.
• Effectively operate portable x-ray/fluoroscopy/c-arm/CT machines to produce quality images.
• Analyze and print film as requested.
