About The Position

The position involves assembling and producing custom procedure trays within a Clean Room environment at Owens & Minor, a leading healthcare company. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to specifications, and effective communication with team leaders to ensure quality and compliance in the assembly process. The successful candidate will learn various procedures and processes to perform all functions related to tray assembly and packaging.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assembles custom procedure trays, identifying medical components by description and vendor item number.
• Follows assembly instructions and places the correct component and quantity into the tray using the counting method.
• Visually inspects components for defects and verifies conformance to specifications, reporting defective components to the team leader.
• Completes prep assemblies within a custom procedure tray and identifies the right wrap for the build, wrapping the tray per customer's specified sterile technique.
• Ensures communication occurs between the Team Leader and set-up person before job set-up for special instructions.
• Ensures three job orders are ready for the line at all times, when applicable.
• Verifies contents of Device History Record, including assembly instructions and expiration dates of products.
• Checks vendor ID and description of all components when arranging them on carts and verifies at least one product is batch counted on the cart.
• Removes outer packaging from products when necessary and ensures sealing machine is properly calibrated and set.
• Inspects components for visible defects during the load and packaging process and rotates loading positions as required.
