The Surgical Physician Assistant works closely with and assists the Mohs Surgeon in a wide variety of capacities, sometimes under minimal supervision. He/she carries out or assists Mohs Surgeon with diagnostic and treatment procedures. He/she supervises other clinical assistants and also acts as a proactive member of the patient care team, serving as a patient advocate, teacher, and liason.

Requirements

Comfortable with basic surgical techniques and patient care; experience will be helpful.
Interested in learning advanced concepts in surgery.
works quickly and efficiently.
Self-motivated individual who is adaptable, learns quickly, and is confident working independently when appropriate and necessary.
Works well with both patients and colleagues, sometimes under stressful circumstances; communicates well.
Follows through on tasks consistently to ensure completion.
Willing to work a flexible schedule; must be available to assist with cases which may run late and willing to travel to various Surgery Centers.
Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills are required as well as the desire to be part of a team that functions at the highest level.
