About The Position

The Surgical OR Tech at Blue River Surgery Center plays a crucial role in providing safe and effective nursing care within the operating room. Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (preferred).
• One year experience in an operating room setting (preferably in an ambulatory surgery center).
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable).

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the operative suite for surgery by checking and gathering supplies, equipment, and instruments.
• Ensure that surgical asepsis is maintained in the handling of instruments, sponges, sutures, drains, needles, and dressings.
• Scrub and assist the surgeon at the operative field during procedures.
• Perform surgical room turnover between cases, including disposing of trash and linens, and cleaning equipment and surfaces.
• Collect and record pertinent clinical data in the medical record.
• Collaborate with the Registered Nurse in clinical decision making.
