As a Surgical Neurophysiologist, you will play a key role in supporting surgeons and healthcare teams by providing critical neurophysiological monitoring during surgical procedures. This position is based in Los Angeles, CA. The final salary offered for this position will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to: employment status, schedule, relevant experience, skills, certifications, education, and internal equity within the team and organization. Requirements

  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathologic processes and aseptic techniques
  • Knowledge of electrophysiological equipment used in performing tests on patients along with correct procedures followed in conducting tests and examinations
  • Ability to evaluate various electronic and neurophysiologic waveforms
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact with medical staff, patients, visitors, and other hospital employees
  • Displays vigilance in infection control protocol including hand hygiene, aseptic and sterile technique and low-level disinfection procedures
  • A strong scientific and technical aptitude as well as a passion for intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring required
  • Strong organizational and technology skills
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (as defined by ABRET for CNIM certification) is required
  • An active CNIM (Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring) designation is required

Nice To Haves

  • A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred
  • Au.D degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintains availability for case coverage during normal working hours and call requirements
  • Variable work schedule that may change from week to week, dependent upon case load, surgeon’s availability, research or training needs, creating situations that may require minimal notice to be available for a case, meetings and/or research assignments.
  • Variable work schedule that may include extended hours in the OR beyond normal business hours or a typical 8-hour workday
  • Adheres to regional on-call policies including working nights, weekends, or holidays on a rotating basis
  • Use of a cell phone for ‘on-call’ status during non-scheduled work time to cover add-on and emergency cases
  • Required to maintain focus and clinical judgement at all times during procedures
  • Participate in conference calls, grand rounds and team meetings as requested by team, manager, or business office
  • Ensures timely response to and completion of requests by the Business Operations Office and INN Management via email and/or cell phone. Requests will include but are not limited to travel, credentialing, scheduling, compliance and education
  • Develops and maintains relationships with existing and potential customers by means of visiting the customer facility or contacting directly via phone
  • Participates in performance improvement and quality assurance projects, including quarterly case audits and/or general reviews
  • Present “win-win” solutions for team members, business office or customers
  • Coordinate any new sales or marketing opportunities with VP of Clinical Operations
  • Participates in continuing education to maintain CNIM as required by ABRET
