The Surgical Neurophysiologist Training Program at SpecialtyCare is designed for passionate individuals eager to start a career in intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM). This full-time, salaried position includes a structured one-year training program that combines classroom instruction, laboratory practicums, and practical training in the operating room. The program prepares participants to monitor patients' nervous systems during surgery, ensuring safer procedures and better outcomes. Upon completion, participants will be expected to obtain CNIM certification and may need to relocate to various service markets.

  • Prepare patients for neurophysiological monitoring by applying electrodes.
  • Advocate for patients and monitor their nervous system during surgery.
  • Set up and calibrate neuromonitoring equipment in the operating room.
  • Interact with the surgical team to provide timely updates on the patient's neurologic status.
  • Document and save recorded waveforms and relevant data according to established protocols.
  • Doctoral degree in life sciences, bio-engineering, or audiology preferred.
  • Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in a related field is acceptable.
  • CNIM certification required upon completion of the training program.
  • Strong communication skills and basic computer skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in a clinical setting related to neurophysiology or surgery.
  • Familiarity with IONM equipment and procedures.
