About The Position

We are seeking a Part-Time Surgical Materials Coordinator for our surgery center. This individual will be responsible for maintaining adequate supplies and receiving all items coming into the surgery center. Duties include but not limited to: Ordering and coordinating supplies and specialty equipment with OR schedule. Reviews surgical schedule well in advance to anticipate supply needs. Follows up on back orders and communicates issues to the Administrator, as needed. Demonstrate appropriate response to schedule changes to avoid delays in providing equipment and overstock of inventories. Reports invoice discrepancies to Administrator prior to payment. Assists in set-up of specialty equipment Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous. Demonstrates a commitment to adhere to facility policy and guidelines. Demonstrates understanding and responsibility in maintaining proper inventory levels under the principles of 'just in time' inventory practices. Minimal Travel to other location may be required. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in OR material / inventory management in a healthcare or ASC environment required.
  • Current CA Drivers License required.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with all accreditation preparation and compliance with all standards for AAAHC, CMS and CDC/APIC, and State guidelines.
  • Demonstrates compliance with company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Ability to set priorities and appropriately organize workload and complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public.
  • Must have knowledge of PC and applications.
  • Must have experience is standard office equipment. e. computers, copy machines, and telephones.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of three (3) years of ORT experience preferred.
  • Surgical technologist certification preferred.
