Requirements

  • At least 2 years of surgical assisting experience in spine, orthopedics, and robotics.
  • One of the following credentials: LSA, CFSA
  • Graduate of an Accredited Surgical Assistant Program:
  • Proficiency in EMR systems and MS Office—because efficiency matters in and out of the OR.
  • Current state license in Texas.
  • Able to perform essential duties with or without accommodations, including: • Lifting, standing, squatting, bending, and kneeling during procedures. • Frequent lifting (20+ lbs.), constant seeing, hearing, and speaking in a fast-paced OR setting.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted first assist during spine, orthopedic and robotic surgeries
  • Anticipate surgeon needs, maintain a sterile field, and optimize patient positioning.
  • Work seamlessly with the OR team to ensure precision, efficiency, and exceptional patient outcomes.
  • Connect with patients before surgery, ensuring they feel informed and at ease.
  • Confirm cases, manage essential documentation, and facilitate smooth patient transfers.
  • Provide detailed handovers to PACU staff to maintain continuity of care.
  • Engage in clinical and operational improvement projects, including training and process enhancements.
  • Expand your expertise by learning new surgical specialties and staying ahead in the ever-evolving world of surgery.
