About The Position

Cleans and services the perioperative departments including POS, Surgery, Anesthesia, PACU, staff and doctor’s lounges, kitchen areas, locker rooms and restrooms, offices, control desk, hallways, and all support areas. Cleans stretchers, beds, OR tables, patient rooms, operating rooms and equipment; restocks supplies; operates a variety of electrical and battery-powered equipment on a limited basis. Maintains these areas in a neat, orderly, and sanitary condition. Operating Room Environmental Services (OREVS) 24/7 team provides a clean, sanitized and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients, visitors, physicians, and staff of Sarasota Memorial Hospital Surgical Services division. This is achieved by following established Infection Control procedures in all areas serviced, both clinical and non-clinical, utilizing the latest technological and/or mechanical advances, and continually educating all staff. OREVS Technician is a vital, entry-level position for those passionate about keeping a clean and disinfected environment. OREVS Techs are responsible for process-based cleaning/disinfection which includes: Terminal clean Operating suites (3rd shift only) Turnover cleaning pre/post patient rooms Stretcher/bed cleaning Cleaning of lounges, offices, lockers, and bathrooms Cleaning equipment Bulk trash, recyclables, and biohazardous trash removal Floor cleaning, including the use of floor equipment as needed. TRU-D™ disinfecting robot use operates a variety of electrical and battery-powered equipment on a limited basis

Requirements

  • Must have the basic ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English at a basic level to ensure clear direction and effective collaboration with team members who do not speak Spanish. Fluency is not required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer previous environmental services experience in health care facility or other institution.
  • 1+ year professional cleaning experience in a hospital setting
  • Prefer demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and timetables.
  • Prefer the basic ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
  • HS EQ: High School Diploma, GED or Certificate
