About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Surgical Coordinator to manage the coordination and scheduling of all outpatient and in-office surgical procedures. In this role, you will serve as a key liaison between patients, physicians, clinical staff, and other departments to ensure a seamless and efficient scheduling process. Additionally, you will provide patients with clear education and guidance regarding their surgical procedures and related protocols. Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
• Comply with all HIPPA and legal regulations.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD 10 codes
• Understanding all insurance products to include: PPO's, HMO, POS, etc.
• Must have organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to function well in a high paced and at time stressful environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficient with Microsoft office suite and related software

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of surgical coordination for all out-patient and in office procedures
• Verify patients' insurance for authorization requirements, deductible amounts, co-pays, and determination of coverage for planned procedures.
• Completes all necessary paperwork for admissions.
• Obtains additional referrals required for surgery as well as authorization.
• Communicate with patient all appointments, pre-op instructions, hospital information, clearance requirements, and post operative expectations.
• Obtain clearance letters, pre-op labs, and records required prior to surgery for physician review and hospital submission.
• Responsible for ongoing communication between the physician, the patient and hospital regarding any aspect of surgery
• Provide clearance letters/orders as well as excuse notes for employer.
• Educates patient on financial responsibility for surgery, pre-op appointments/labs.
• Act as a liaison between patients, physicians, medical staff, and other departments to ensure smooth scheduling process.
