As a Surgical Clinician, you will support fellow caregivers in performing various cardiac procedures. In this role, you will help facilitate a comfortable environment for patients, ensuring they are safe, secure and supported throughout treatment. This position offers an excellent way to directly improve outcomes, all while gaining extensive hands-on experience, developing as a nurse, meeting exciting new people and finding your place within an innovative healthcare setting. A caregiver in this position works day/evening/night/weekend shifts from 6:30 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m. with on-call requirements.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Completed Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) course
  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) Certification
  • Privileged by CCF Credentialing Board
  • Two years of Operating Room experience

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) Certification
  • BSN

Responsibilities

  • Assist surgeon and/or senior resident in thoracic and cardiovascular surgical procedures.
  • Assist the surgeon during coronary anastomosis, implantation of prosthetic valves, resection of aneurysms, etc.
  • Function as the Surgical Scheduling Officer for the Department.
  • Review preoperative patient data with each staff surgeon.
