About The Position

The Surgical Clinical Reviewer’s chief responsibility is to collect and submit reliable data to the ACS NSQIP. This is accomplished through high quality data compilation, documentation, and entry into the ACS NSQIP database of all eligible surgeries for the hospital. The SCR works closely with the members of the Department of Surgery to identify opportunities for clinical quality improvement and other special projects as may be identified. P articipation in quality programs in relation to NSQIP/HPB/HRGI , as well as providing information in regards to NSQIP for hospital quality improvement to management. Methodist Richardson Medical Center is a 443-bed, full-service, acute care hospital that serves Richardson, Garland, Plano, and surrounding areas in Dallas and Collin counties. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in nursing
  • Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Texas or eligibility to do so
  • Completion of SCR training program through ACS NSQIOP required within 6 months of hire
  • Minimum of one year experience in one of the following settings: hospital surgery department, surgery clinic, clinical research, or medical records
  • Clinical chart review and abstraction experience
