The primary responsibility of the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgical/Medical Clinical Reviewer (MBSCR) is to ensure the accurate and timely collection, documentation, and submission of high-quality data to the American College of Surgeons' Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) registry and/or the Medical Weight Loss (MWL) registry. This includes 100% of bariatric surgical procedures performed at the center, as well as eligible MWL patients enrolled in the program. The MBSCR plays a vital role in supporting quality improvement by working closely with bariatric surgeons, general surgery teams, the Metabolic and Bariatric Program Coordinator, Medical Weight Loss team, and the Quality Department to identify opportunities for clinical excellence and special projects. The MBSCR is granted access to all relevant patient documentation and reporting systems to ensure complete and reliable data collection. This position requires strong collaboration across clinical and administrative teams and contributes directly to advancing patient care and outcomes through data-driven insights.
