Responsible for assisting the physician in the clinic and operative setting (works independently and when required under the direct supervision of a physician) and coordination of all clinical care given to patients. Performs therapeutic procedures such as wound care, crutch and gait training and provides patient instruction on exercise. Works closely with the clinic team for optimal patient care. Greet and educate patients on the anatomical aspects of their visit. Perform telephone and general office duties, including scheduling appointments for diagnostic examinations and physical therapy according to physician’s orders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited athletic training program is required
  • 1+ year related experience including experience evaluating and assessing patient injury required.
  • 1+ year OR experience, preferred
  • Certified Orthopedic Technologist (OTC) OR other surgical certification - Required within 90 days of hire
  • Board Certified Athletic Trainer Certification
  • Successful completion of a SMA Residency or equivalent program
  • BLS
  • Drivers License
  • Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a related sportsmedicine/healthcare field preferred
  • 1+ year OR experience, preferred
