Surgical Associate II - Samaritan Hospital - Full Time Position Highlights: Recognized leader: Magnet Hospital in the Capital Region Quality of Life: Where career opportunities and quality of life converge Advancement: Strong orientation program, generous tuition allowance and career development Principal Responsibilities: Performs all Level I and II responsibilities and competencies Properly identifies and transports blood products to assigned room Assists staff in positioning patient for regional anesthesia and peripheral line placement Checks case carts for accuracy of information and supplies Medications are ordered, organized and maintained in accordance with established standards policies and procedures Performs direct patient care under supervision of RN/Anesthesia Understands and differentiates between concepts of medical asepsis and surgical technique Demonstrates ability to create a sterile field by opening sterile supplies and pouring sterile solutions onto field Operates various sterilizers according to manufacturer's guidelines Performs biological testing on sterilizers Identifies service specific equipment Stages equipment/supplies/case cart for surgical case Terminally disinfects/decontaminates surgical instruments/scopes for re-sterilization Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. 1-2 year's experiences in a health care environment. Pay Range: $17.85 - $23.33 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 year's experiences in a health care environment.
