About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Surgical Assistant to provide intraoperative support under direct surgeon supervision, ensuring safe, efficient surgical procedures and high-quality patient care.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of anatomy/physiology, excellent manual dexterity, and ability to stand for extended periods
• Associate’s Degree in Surgical Assisting or completion of an accredited Surgical Assisting program
• BLS (AHA)

Nice To Haves

• 4+ years general experience with 2+ years in a specialty
• NSAA, CFA (AST), NCCPA (AAPA), or RNFA (NASC)

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient positioning and identification of anatomy
• Maintain operative site visualization (retractors, suction, irrigation, sponging, tissue and suture manipulation)
• Assist with hemostasis and wound closure (subcutaneous, subcuticular, sutures, staples)
• Administer local anesthetic as directed postoperatively
• Apply and manage wound dressings and secure drainage systems
• Independently assist with harvesting veins, radial artery, tendons, bone, skin, and plastic closures when required
• Provide expert assistance in major surgical cases
• Stay current with new surgical technologies and techniques
