About The Position

Are you an experienced Veterinary Technician with a passion for mentorship and leadership? Join our team at PEAK Veterinary Referral Center located in Williston, VT as a Surgery Veterinary Technician Lead and help deliver remarkable care to pets while guiding and supporting a talented group of Veterinary Technicians. You’ll be the operational heartbeat of our surgery service—anticipating needs, keeping the day on track, and ensuring our surgeons, technicians, and clients are fully supported. Drive the daily surgical plan by coordinating case order, operating room assignments, and technician coverage to ensure every day runs with intention and efficiency. Be the calm in the chaos, actively managing the flow of the surgery schedule and stepping in to solve problems before they disrupt patient care. Serve as the trusted point person for surgeons, staying on the floor and readily available to support real-time decision-making and workflow needs. Navigate complex medical and financial conversations, overseeing advanced estimates and guiding clients through emotionally charged or high-touch situations with clarity and compassion. Own equipment and implant logistics, including troubleshooting equipment issues, managing urgent and specialty implant orders, and tracking/returning surgical implants (including total hips). Protect the future schedule, proactively monitoring forward bookings to identify and correct scheduling conflicts or inappropriate case placement. Keep communication flowing, monitoring the surgery team inbox and Chewy portal to ensure nothing falls through the cracks. Please note that this is not a management position and will not involve attending management meetings or handling disciplinary actions. About Peak Peak Veterinary Referral Center is a 14,000 sq. ft. hospital providing state-of-the-art diagnostics, treatments, and 24-hour care for hospitalized patients seven days a week. Requirements

  • You are a confident, skilled, Veterinary Technician - Bonus points if you are a CVT, LVT, or VTS!
  • You possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills aimed at establishing long lasting, positive relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community.
  • You are able to work well independently and in a team environment, leading by example and holding oneself accountable for quality medicine and customer service.
