About The Position

The Pavilion Surgery Center Surgical Technologists work as members of a health care team alongside physicians and surgeons, registered nurses and other staff in the operating room and is responsible for rendering technical skilled care to patients during operative procedures. Surgical technologists primarily fulfill the first scrub role. Their common tasks and duties can be split into three phases: before the surgical operation (preoperative), during the surgical operation (intraoperative), and after the surgical operation (postoperative). The Surgical Technologist may also be responsible for cleaning and turning over instruments, equipment and rooms for surgery; assists in evaluating the patient plan of care within the operating room environment, contributes to overall unit efficiency, safety, workflow and utilization; performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Surgical Technology OR see experience.
  • If graduate of surgical technology program, no experience required OR if not a graduate of a surgical technology program, requires 5 years of experience.
  • BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of one (1) year of surgical technologist work experience.
  • Operating room or sterile processing experience strongly preferred.
  • CST (Certified Surgical Technologist).

Responsibilities
