About The Position

Schedule surgical procedures for podiatry patients in coordination with physicians, surgical facilities, and patients Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and obtain necessary authorizations for procedures Communicate pre-operative instructions, including fasting, medication adjustments, and arrival times Coordinate with hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and anesthesia providers to secure operating room availability Ensure all required documentation (consents, labs, imaging, medical clearances) is completed prior to surgery Maintain accurate and up-to-date scheduling records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system Serve as a point of contact for patients regarding surgery-related questions and updates Follow up with patients regarding scheduling changes, cancellations, or rescheduling needs Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure continuity of care and timely communication Assist with post-operative scheduling, including follow-up appointments Adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality standards at all times

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical scheduling experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, particularly related to podiatry procedures, preferred
  • Experience with insurance verification and prior authorizations
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and scheduling software
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
